my services include:

• Comprehensive routine prenatal and postpartum care, including labs and monitoring for mom and baby. These visits include routine lab work, monitoring, personalized education, counseling, and discussion. Clients are referred out for ultrasounds or any additional specialist services or consults as needed. I have established working relationships with local obstetricians and consulting is a smooth, integrated process.

• Continuity of care. As a solo practitioner, I can offer the unique advantage of being there for all your visits, and of course, at your birth. This allows me to really get to know you and your family and provide you with the best possible care. In the extremely rare event that I am unable to attend your birth, I have excellent relationships with other local midwives and will arrange for your back-up care.

What else?

• Hour-long visits. We base our prenatal visit schedule on the standard obstetric model: monthly until 28 weeks, bimonthly (every 2 weeks) until 36 weeks, and then weekly until baby is born. Around 36 weeks, we’ll have our weekly visit in your home to discuss home birth preparation and so I can familiarize myself with your space.

• 24/7 access to the midwife. All clients are given my personal cell phone number at their initial visit and are encouraged to communicate via phone with any questions or concerns between appointments. I am always on-call for you in the event of an emergency, or much more commonly, when your baby decides to make their appearance!

• Attendance at your labor and home birth between 37 - 42 weeks. Water birth available! When your labor begins, we stay in close communication until you’re ready for me to join you at home. For some families, this looks like more support in early labor. Other moms labor with their partner and doula well into active labor before I’m needed. I arrive at your home with my trained birth assistant, and we stay until the baby is born. After the birth, I help establish breastfeeding, examine, measure, and weigh baby closely, clean up from the birth, and tuck you into bed. You can expect me to stay for 2-5 hours after the birth, spending on your particular needs and how breastfeeding and recovery is going.

• Comprehensive postpartum care, customized to your unique needs. The amount of postpartum support midwives offer to their clients is nothing less than they deserve and yet is so much more than traditional obstetric care offers. With an OB,  new moms have only one visit at 6 weeks postpartum.

In my care, we customize your schedule based on the amount of support you and baby need for physical healing and breastfeeding.
Typically, the care schedule looks like:
- 24- 48 hours postpartum home visit
- Day 3 postpartum (a breastfeeding phone call, unless an in-person visit is needed)
- Office visits at 8-14 days postpartum, 1 month, and 6 weeks.

• Shared decision-making and personalized guidance and education for nutrition and self-care during pregnancy. This informed consent is a cornerstone of home birth midwifery care. At each and every appointment, we are checking in on your thoughts, needs, and desires on whatever is relevant for that point in your care. I always offer my insight, both evidence-based and anecdotal, and you are empowered to make the decision that is right for you.

• Breastfeeding support.
This begins right after birth during that golden first hour of baby’s life. I provide as much hands-on support as needed to get baby’s first latch established. I remain in touch postpartum for unlimited troubleshooting on any concerns around latch, newborn weight gain, nipple pain, etc. - whatever you need. If there’s a concern beyond my area of expertise, I can connect you with a local lactation consultant for additional expert support.

• Comprehensive newborn care for up to 6 weeks of age.
I am licensed to provide care for your baby for the first several weeks postpartum. I refer and/or consult with the pediatrician of your choice if needed before that time. I am able to offer the same routine newborn screening and procedures available to babies born in the hospital, including the newborn metabolic screening, congenital heart defect screen, vitamin K, newborn antibiotic eye ointment, and hearing screen.
